Hiding wolf notes by manipulating tailgut length
One can never fully eliminate the wolf notes, but they can be minimized; sometimes a wolf can be hidden between notes by manipulating tailgut length.

Why does too much soundpost adjustment harm instruments?

1) Although sound-post adjustment can be used to optimize the sound, including minimizing wolf notes, if it is not necessary, don’t do it. Doing sound-post adjustment too often is bad for instruments because spruce (the top) is very soft.
2) Sometimes sound can be made better without soundpost adjustment.

Protect varnish by cleaning instruments properly

1) Some varnish recipes contain rosin, so if you don’t clean rosin often, they melt together with varnish, ruining the varnish. It is best to wipe instruments with a clean and very soft cloth without any cleaner & polish after each use. If someone really would like to use a cleaner, use it sparingly, as little as possible, since it contains sticky oil and chemicals.

2) Turn the instrument upside down while using cotton with little rubbing alcohol to clean the strings and the fingerboard so the rubbing alcohol will not drip onto the instrument.

3) Hold the instrument by its neck and endpin or chinrest, not on the body, so varnish will not fade away or be damaged in the long run.
