When we released our new Quiltmania #149 Dresden Dance Bundle, several customerasked if they could purchase just the beautiful indigo fabrics featured in the quilt kit.

So, while building the quilt bundles, we also created a limited number of Indigo Fat Quarter Bundles featuring the same rich assortment of deep blue prints. If you're an indigo lover, these bundles are a great way to add some timeless blues to your collection.

Indigo has been one of the world's most important textile dyes for thousands of years. Long before synthetic dyes were available, indigo was prized for its rich color and remarkable durability. From shirtings and workwear to quilts and dress fabrics, indigo became a staple of everyday life throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.

And here's a fun historical connection to Margo's home state of West Virginia. Wheeling was the birthplace of the famous Wabash fabrics produced by J.L. Stifel & Sons beginning in the 1830s. These distinctive fabrics featured crisp white dots and motifs created through a discharge-printing process on an indigo-dyed ground. Wabash prints became some of the most recognizable cotton fabrics in America and are still beloved by textile collectors and reproduction fabric enthusiasts today.

Perhaps it's no surprise that indigo is Margo's favorite dye! Growing up in West Virginia, she developed a lifelong appreciation for the beautiful blue fabrics that have played such an important role in American textile history.

You'll find both the Dresden Dance Quilt Bundle and our new Indigo Fat Quarter Bundles in our Fun Finds area while supplies last.

Margo’s Weekly Fun Find – Antoinette by French General for Moda Fabrics - Limited yardage available.

Set on a soft dusty blue ground, this graceful floral trail features flowing vines, delicate blossoms, berries, and stylized blooms in warm shades of rose, red, blush, cream, and olive. The design feels equally at home in an 18th-century salon, a French country cottage, or tucked into a favorite quilt project.

French General fabrics are known for drawing inspiration from antique French textiles, documents, and faded European color palettes. This print has that unmistakable old-world charm — romantic florals with a slightly worn, time-softened elegance that blends beautifully with reproduction fabrics, florals, chintz projects, and French-inspired quilts.

NEW BLOCK OF THE MONTH PROGRAM
Civil War Inspired Log Cabin
Launching July 2026!

The Log Cabin quilt is one of America’s most iconic quilt patterns. Rising to enormous popularity during the mid-to-late 19th century, especially during and after the Civil War era, the design became beloved for both its striking geometry and symbolic meaning.

Each month you’ll receive a curated selection of Civil War reproduction lights and darks — authentic shirtings, plaids, checks, warm browns, brick reds, deep indigos, golds, and classic 19th-century prints to help you create beautiful, scrappy blocks filled with antique character.

Each month, Margo Krager — fabric historian and owner of ReproductionFabrics.com — will include an original historical essay exploring Civil War America, textiles, quilting traditions, dyes, fabrics, dress goods, and daily life of the period.

A quilting journey through history, textiles, and one of America’s most enduring quilt patterns.
