Thinking about the beginning at the end today.

Five years ago this light filled space became a chance at hope, and a dream of something bigger. Today these walls are filled with history, laughter, joy, friendship, and belonging. It’s been a hell of a ride.

Meg and I would like to thank our parents, children, friends, and all of you who have been a part of this. It’s been a defining period of our lives. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

We’ll be open from 10-2 today for our last day.

We’re closed today for inventory, tomorrow for the holiday, then open Friday and Saturday for our last days ever! Still a lot of good things to be found! Cedearo bags, accessories, tires, bikes and frames.

Friends, this is a post I take no pleasure in writing. We will be closing the shop. Our last day will be Saturday Jan 3rd.

This is not a choice we’ve taken lightly, and the reason is centered squarely on the absurd cost of for profit health care. We are not closing because the business has failed. It’s done everything I could have ever hoped it would. This country is broken, but we can’t change that system. I’m not looking to debate policy here, just to inform. I’ll simply say that we must do better.

It has been my distinct pleasure to serve so many of you over these past 5 years. This business has been my crowning achievement in my career to this point. I’m immensely proud of the work that I’ve done, and what Meg and I have been able to build for this community. I’ll miss the work, and I’ll miss you all. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. I’m so grateful.

Starting today, all in stock bikes are 30% off, and all accessories are 40-50% off. I have a large selection of slightly used tires, and many other things on offer as well.

Happy holiday week all! We will be closed today through the weekend, open next week as usual. We hope you get to spend some time with friends and loved ones! Enjoy the break, and we’ll see you in December!

This fine set of 27.5” mtb wheels wrapped up last week’s work nicely. These are the first part of a Surly Bridge Club upgrade package up next! Quick release hubs in 100/141 spacing makes the most of what the Bridge Club has to offer. The boost QR rear, paired with offset Stan’s Arch rims offer nearly even spoke tension. Properly balanced, these will last a very long time!

I love silver spokes. They pop, shine, and offer visual lightness sorely needed on modern bikes. This set is going on a dark red Bridge Club. The red valvestems offer a bit of pop, work great, and will really compliment the bike a lot.

Teravail Ehlines are still our go to for fast rolling, long wearing, predicable cornering mtb tires. Ther are a super versatile tire, and will be faster rolling and more capable than the stock Bridge Club tires.

This will be a huge change over how the stock mtb Bridge Club is set up. I’d guess this will drop well over 2 lbs from the bike, all where it matters most. It’ll do that while increasing the versatility with the tire choice. The spoke and valve color will really pop from standard as well. I can’t wait to see the improvement, and to hear our client’s feedback!

Our favorite uber-townie Surly Straggler just keeps getting better!

Recently it came in for a pair of gorgeous Velo Orange hammered fenders. They also added a beautiful from bag from Sunday Projects, in just the perfect color! I love this bike. Its style meets function in the best car replacement, rolling classic, feel good set up and use case. I love the combo of USA made performance parts in timeless pairing with a comfortable, classic steel frame. It’s a sweet rig that just keeps getting better with time.

Not all bikepacking bikes are upright and touring minded!

This go fast Cervelo is a one bike quiver killer for its young owner. Gravel, crits, grocery store runs, and multi-day bikepacking trips are frequent uses. My back has already called my chiropractor just looking at that position, but he rocks it well!

This bike will get a half framebag forward of the seat tube bottle. This will allow for the use of a full liter bottle in that position, plus one under the DT. The bag will maximize usable space while minimizing knee rub. Can’t wait to see what the fine folks at Cedaero stitch up for this beast!

This well equipped Fargo rolled out the door a bit ago.

Set up for a short reach, upright fit, this bike is all about accessible comfort. Comfort items like Whisky’s excellent Spano bar, a long, flexible carbon post, and a Brooks Imperial carved saddle look great and feel super good. Green bits from Paul and Cedaero hold lights, stuff, and look great. High volume, fast rolling tires from Teravail add capability and comfort. Short, 165mm Shimano XT cranks pair really well with a Wolf Tooth 36t chaining and the 12 speed GRX drivetrain.

This bike is going places! It looks amazing and will provide miles of reliable comfort. It makes me happy to see folks out riding bikes they love. This one is already bringing joy and smiles!

The shop will be closed again today. I tested positive for Covid yesterday. I’m feeling better today, and will plan on returning to work tomorrow as CDC guidelines suggest.

This killer Salsa Fargo build left the shop a little while ago. The start of the build was a stock Salsa GRX 12 speed model. I added the Hope/Teravail carbon wheels from last week. Versatile Teravail Camrock tires offer mtb capability and high volume, fast rolling capability. A Bingham Built Ti seat post adds comfort and class. White Industries Adventure cranks narrow up the pedal width, spin super well, and look the business!

This bike is built for going places. It looks fantastic! I can’t wait to hear how it works in the wild!

The shop will be closed today, I’m not feeling great. Hope to be back at it tomorrow.

Added another Cedaero custom order to the cue this weekend! I love half frame bags. They make the most of available space, while allowing for access to bottles.

The process is really simple, and shown here. Bring me your bike. We’ll use a cloth ruler to provide Cedaero with a scale for bag design in CAD. The black tape show marks the bottom of the desired bag depth. These photos will allow them to design, cut the panels with lasers, and stitch up a perfectly fitted product.

This pair of Hope Pro 5 wheels is heading for a killer Salsa Fargo build!

Goals of this wheelset were simple. Build a wide, light, capable wheelset for bikepacking and general gravel riding and exploring. Teravail’s Fluent rim was used here. They’ve been riding and building up really well! I’m the pair on my Spearfish, and ride reports from others are great.

Hope Pro 5’s were chosen for price, ease of rolling, and engagement. They sound really nice, and the near instant engagement comes without the penalty of excessive freehub drag or noise. They have been favorites lately. Butted Sapim Race spokes to mechanically locking, brass ni***es round out the package.

This is a killer wheelset. Versatile enough to be used on many bikes, it’ll compliment the varied use nature of this Fargo incredibly well!

This half frame bag from Cedaero was designed to fill the space above the bottles on a large Karate Monkey. It fits three cans of your favorite vegetable by happenstance.

Seen with black waxed canvas, this Velcro free bag attaches via some really great cordage. It was a fun challenge to lace this up so that the cords pull in the correct ways!

This is yet another example of the fine craftsmanship the folks at Cedaero can offer. What can we have made for your bike?
