✨🌿 192 Books events season has officially come to a close! 📚

This spring, 192 Books was home to a myriad of engaging events and hosted several brilliant guests. We were joined in-store by 24 brilliant writers, translators, poets, philosophers. Here’s a recap of this season:
In March, Hisham and Diana Matar celebrated Hisham’s translation of Naguib Mahfouz’s final book, followed by art historian Alexander Dumbadze and artist Cameron Martin on Dumbadze’s biography of Jack Goldstein.
In April, Colm Tóibín read from his new story collection, Wayne Koestenbaum joined Bill Goldstein to discuss his first novel in twenty years, and Lynne Tillman read from her new collection of art criticism with Christine Smallwood.
May brought Kit Schluter and Julia Kornberg celebrating Schluter’s translation of Copi’s City of Rats; the launch of Alphabet no. 4 with Nate Lowman, Andy Roberts, Joan Jonas, and Precious Okoyomon; a poet-translator colloquy with Elizabeth Zuba, Joshua Beckman, and Anna Moschovakis; Jalal Toufic in conversation with Walid Raad; and a joint reading by Susan Howe and Ben Lerner. Finally, in June, we finished with Alexis Almeida and Grace Nissan celebrating Almeida’s new poetry collection Caetano.
