Pride Month is here, and our window is filled with books that celebrate q***r lives, histories, creativity, and resistance.

From the groundbreaking voices of Audre Lorde, James Baldwin, Ocean Vuong, and Torrey Peters to visual explorations by Vince Aletti, Ryan McGinley, Myriam Boulos, D’Angelo Lovell Williams, and Anderson Zaca, this selection traces the many ways q***r people have documented, imagined, and transformed the world around them.

Featuring fiction, photography, memoir, criticism, and cultural history, these books honor both the communities that came before us and the stories still being written.

And for those interested in q***r cultural history, join us tomorrow, June 2, for a conversation with John Dempsey and Michael Bullock celebrating Fire Island Art: 100 Years, a landmark volume documenting a century of creativity, community, and artistic life on Fire Island.

Stop by and browse our Pride Month window, and discover a new favorite along the way. 🌈

One needs only to step outside to see the signs of summer everywhere. The parks are full, the tables lining the streets are boisterous once again, and someone somewhere is finally lying in the grass with a new favorite book: something messy and full of longing, or quietly devastating, or strange and funny in a way they didn’t see coming.

Here are some books to keep on hand during the long summer afternoons ahead:
- Sunburn / Chloe Michelle Howarth
- Run for the Hills / Kevin Wilson
- Before I Knew I Loved You / Toshikazu Kawaguchi
- Glyph / Ali Smith
- Good News / Alexa Yasemin Brahme
- Canon / Paige Lewis

Six books. One for every kind of summer you’re having.
See you at the park. ☀️
