Our transformative organic cotton project in Benin has been approved by the Global Environment Facility!

For Traid Chief Executive Maria Chenoweth, this milestone is also a deeply personal moment, reflecting on years of collaboration, persistence, and shared vision with partners at PAN UK and OBEPAB to help bring it to life.

Building on decades of joint work, the initiative will train more than 50,000 farmers, expand sustainable cotton production, restore degraded land, and help prevent the use of over 2,000 tonnes of hazardous pesticides.

It’s a powerful reminder of what long-term partnerships can achieve.

Did you know that 1 in 3 UK adults has binned brand-new clothes in the past year?*

Let’s change this.

By passing on clothes you no longer wear to Traid, you’re giving them a new life and supporting the people working in the fashion supply chain, from cotton farmers to garment workers and their communities.

Meet Sumi, one of 60 girls we’re supporting to build a life beyond waste picking on dangerous landfill sites in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Alongside our in-country charity partner Grambangla, we’re supporting girls aged 14–17 move into safer work by learning sewing and tailoring skills, opening doors to better livelihoods, developing their confidence and building brighter futures.

Every time you donate or shop at Traid, you’re helping create real change to build a fairer and more sustainable industry. Thank you for your support!
