One of our other favorite Alt-Country bands are the Austin TX natives The Old 97's. Got to see them open for Wilco at the Riv during the "Being There" tour... and somewhere I have Ken Coomer's drum stick to prove it.

Yep, I'm old. : P

So, not only do the Old 97's have a triple LP live album coming out on RSD Black Friday, they are also reissuing TWO other Live albums as well as TWO studio albums on their own... on the same date... 11/27.

All four of these: Blame It On Gravity, Drag It Up and the two "Grand Theatre" sets have been out of print for about 10 years, so way cool to have them back... albeit in limited edition release.

Since these come out on Black Friday but are NOT a sanctioned RSD release, we are more than happy... as well as encourage... pre-orders on these. Shoot us a DM if you want to get signed up for any or all!!

And random trivia note on these architects of the Cow-Punk movement; they have been the exact same line-up (zero member changes) since formation in 1992. If you do the math and think about other active bands that have had zero line-up changes (U2, Radiohead, Coldplay & the Strokes come to mind)... that's a pretty neat trick.

Happy Wednesday Night!

Mile Long Records Indie Exclusive Pre-Order Post #102826

Attached is our next installment of our Indie Exclusive Pre-Orders. This includes all of the indie exclusives up to December 4th. ALSO INCLUDED: A 5th & 6th page that includes all the Music On Vinyl limited releases coming.

If you have been following these in the past, you know pretty much how these work. If you are seeing this for the first time.. here are the basics.

1) The SIX lists here represent all the Indie Exclusives and Music On Vinyl available to pre-order up to December 4th. Everything is listed by street date. Click on any picture and it will open up into a new window so you can zoom in on titles.

2) Wherever possible we've indicated the color of the vinyl, but sometimes we unfortunately won't know until they show up.

3) Each Wednesday, we will post a new list with an additional week of titles.

4) If you want to pre-order anything, that is the easy part: Send us a Direct Message with the artist and title and we'll get you signed up.

Please also remember that this IS a pre-order and NOT a title that is already in-store that you are asking us to hold. Once we have your pre-ordered title in the store we do need you to pick it up... thanks for understanding the difference between a Hold and a Pre-Order. Pre-Orders CAN be cancelled, but we do need to have notification from you by the Monday before the street date. Thanks!

Anything highlighted in YELLOW is new to the list. Anything in ORANGE are titles we recommend a pre-order either because its going to be super limited or we think its going to be a high demand title. Thanks!!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!

Was starting to wonder if the Uncle Tupelo catalog was ever gonna get repressed... Survey says - 12/4... er 12/11 since its a Music On Vinyl import. ; )

These three albums are ground zero for the Alt-Country/Cow-Punk movement in the early 90's. While one group of flannel clad punks where consuming all things grunge, these three albums, along with albums by Whiskeytown, Steve Earle, The Jayhawks, the Old 97's (check back here tomorrow night!) as well as my personal best kept secret "Blue Mountain" and the album "Dog Days" ...and far too many to mention on The Bloodshot label, had its own exploding niche. Anyhow, a genre near and dear and one that changed this fans music consumption forever.... so very happy to see the rest of the Uncle Tupelo catalog getting reissued.

Since these have not been in print in several years and are being reissued as a Music On Vinyl Import, pre-orders are recommended and appreciated. The MOV releases also are regularly a 1-2 weeks behind schedule, so while a 12/4 date is what is on the calendar, 12/11 is what we expect to see. Shoot us a DM if you want to get signed up!

Happy Tuesday Night!!!

I hate seeing the number "500" associated with a band like Cracker.

Unfortunately, that is the number of copies being pressed for Cracker "Hidden Gem" reissue Greenland. Never before on vinyl, this was part of the criminally skipped over era of Cracker that also includes "Countrysides" and "Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey". While we DO have store copies on order for this one, the 500 copies of the splatter vinyl will be gone pretty quick... so if you want to get signed up, hit us up with a DM! Thanks!

Happy Tuesday Afternoon!!

Never fails. Whenever I put a post up about upcoming MoFi releases, the next day they will announce another one... there ya go.

I had to double check, MoFi did press Eric Clapton "Unplugged" but this is their first time pressing "Riding with the King" with B.B. This one will be pressed as a 2xLP 33 RPM Gatefold and NOT a One-Step. I'd say doubtful that this one will be ready in time for Christmas, but anything is possible.

We will be carrying this in the store but since its a numbered limited edition, pre-orders are recommended and appreciated. If you'd like to get signed up, send us a direct message asap. Thanks!

Happy Tuesday!!!

“Go now, you've been set free
Another month or so you'll be poisoning me
With your lovely smile
I see you slither away with your skin and your tail
Your flickering tongue and your rattling scales
Like a real reptile”

Happy Sunday!!!

Some random production notes to start our day…

First, today is NOT downtown trick-or-treating… that is next Saturday and is actually on Halloween. Glen Ellyn has downtown trick-or-treating today and that appears to be causing a little confusion over here. If you show up here in a costume, all I’ve got is a couple of power bars and a few bottles of carbonated water so not exactly ready for trick-or-treaters.🤷🏻

Secondly, thank you to everyone who has sent your wish lists for RSD Black Friday. We did submit our final orders on Monday and we most likely will not know how many copies of any particular titles we will be getting until much later in November. Details to come as we have them.

Finally, I just wanna thank you to everyone for tolerating the absolute parking nonsense that has become downtown Wheaton this year. The ginormous Faywell construction project to our west appears to be in its final phases. With its completion, all of the various construction workers that have chosen to park where they are not supposed to will eventually be gone. I’d love to say that the City Of Wheaton has our and your backs with projects like this, but I think it’s safe to say that all the evidence has been to the contrary. We’ve done our best to fend for ourselves and you by leasing extra spaces behind the store… and all I can say is thank you to everyone who has been able to park “creatively” and still be able to get to our store.

Like Gordon here, once the streets are open and parking is restored, I’ll probably collapse on the floor… again.🤣

Happy Saturday!!!!
