What an amazing market day!!
Without the help of so many, it would be impossible to seamlessly welcome 80 vendors, plus food pop ups, live music, kids activities, and thousands of visitors to our town.
With that said, we would like to thank the Borough of Swarthmore for supporting the event. Chief Ray and the Swarthmore Police Department kept us all safe with a focus on traffic flow and, of course, supporting the removal of one car that seems to always need to be towed every market! (This time it was a vendor’s car that would not start after unloading!) Thank you to Swarthmore Public Works who gives us all of the tools we need to establish our event barriers and helped keep the event clean.
Our volunteers are top notch! Many of them have been
helping for numerous years and make the morning set up and afternoon break down so much
easier. Plus, it is always appreciated by the vendors to have someone offer a bathroom or snack
break! The support team this market included local residents Kim Scott, Mary Deppen, Sylvia
Schneider, Claire Tomlinson, Don Haldeman, Alison Masterpasqua, Melissa Hoy, Rich Crossan, and Sukumar
Pandit. We also had help from Strath Haven Middle and High School students focusing on earning community service hours— Winry Cox, Mason Sturgis, Liam Spires, Lincoln Pandit, Blake Fairbanks, Kelly Magaree, Lucas Elliott, Kylie Elliott, and Juniper Word.
The Merchants of Swarthmore, which include the entire local business community, and the visiting vendors are all grateful for the excellent turnout and productive sales day. Supporting local means so much to
our community and we hope you continue to spend time in the near future supporting Swarthmore!
We can’t wait to do this all again in November!
