Shelley ordered this 6 weeks ago. She just couldn't wait and bought a used McSpadden on ebay to tide her over until this one was finished! Her husband said we've created a monster as she plays for hours! Welcome to our family, Shelley! Excited for your dulcimer journey to continue. Shelley ordered a Scrollhead walnut sycamore with an ebony overlay fretboard. It’s beautiful!

Grandma Linda and Avery and the rest of the family came in. Grandma and granddaughter both got a dulcimer. First one for both. They did great in their lesson!
Linda chose a cherry sycamore, Avery chose an all walnut. Both great choices. Have fun making memories together!

“This is Alyson from Ozark, MO.

We came down to the Shoppe on the 18 of July. (My in laws live in Mt View so we were visiting and my son went to the Sam Bush concert with them)
I had wanted to check out what scroll head dulcimers you had before you closed. You showed us an all walnut scroll head, that was not quite finished. Anyway we called back the next week and had you all put the Mother of Pearl dots on it, and ship it to Michael and Alyson Baker in Ozark, Missouri.
I had meant to get you pictures, so you could post them to see it arrived safely. We love it! We are enjoying how rich the tones are, both of the wood face itself and the instrument sounds.
My son James, is a student of Erin Mae Music, and she is a long time family friend. She introduced James to the dulcimer through a McSpadden and the Dulcimers for David project. But then my husband started to play and so we came to the Dulcimer Shoppe in May and he bought a Cherry Walnut Scroll Head. But then I was tinkering a little with playing, but usually just play the piano. So we decided we all needed our own Dulcimer to play and practice together. My father in law has a McSpadden Dulcimer also; so now we have 3 generations of Baker Boys playing the Dulcimer!”

Maranda has been interested in a McSpadden after visiting us in the past. Her dad bought this as a late birthday gift. He plays guitar. They will enjoy playing and learning together. She liked the looks and sound of the all walnut 26”. Great choice, Maranda! Thanks for shopping local!

Steve and Tammy are for thier anniversary. He plays guitar. They were not familiar with the dulcimer but love the sound and simplicity. He’s excited to learn. Being at the Red River Dulcimer Festival was refreshing. Seeing all the younger players playing both hammered and mountain dulcimer. Plus the Vanderveer Brothers performed each night. The future of dulcimer is alive and well!

There is a great program that gifts young dulcimer players a dulcimer. “Dulcimers for David.”
Hannah was one of the recipients. She is extremely talented! This dulcimer is an older McSpadden M12. If you have a dulcimer sitting around that isn’t being played, please consider putting it in the hands of a young musician!

Wil is at the Red River Dulcimer Festival. His walnut sycamore arrived a few days ago. He’s pleased with it. He said when he was younger he used to climb sycamore trees. Now he plays one! He was happy to meet Duane since his name is in it.
