This mod eliminates the anemic, noisy battery box and creates a 48V DC active preamp for each mic. The result is lower noise, increased headroom and a more practical addition to your studio. Just finished giving these two Ibanez TS10 Tube Screamers a refresh. In addition to replacing the electrolytic capacitors with higher quality versions with tighter tolerances, we inspected the circuit and cleaned and lubricated the potentiometers and jacks. In other words, it was a major rager here in the shop today!🤘

Our mod for the Micro Pog, although tedious, really levels-up the potential of this pedal. We add a second bank of controls, selectable by an added footswitch. Status LED’s for each bank of controls, as well as a cool amp jewel status LED. You now have essentially two of these pedals in the same enclosure - a real space saver on cramped pedalboards. The MXR Blue Box is a great octave fuzz. Unfortunately, it suffers from an anemic volume output. I’ve seen a few different solutions offered up online - none of which really work well, in my opinion. We do it properly - by installing a small boost circuit inside. The added volume pot for the boost circuit can be placed on the side of the pedal (as pictured) or as an internal trim pot.
Side note: the book in the photo has been a source of daily inspiration and wisdom for a while. It offers up guidance for being a better human being in short daily lessons. I recommend both the mod and the book!
