Thank you to everyone who came out to our new events this week! They were big successes and we're excited to continue running them! Just a heads up that Fantasy Standard and Premodern will not be run next week due to Secrets of Strixhaven prerelease, but we will still have Sunday Pauper. For those whose curiosity has been piqued by our last post, starting next Friday (04/10) we will be experimenting with a new FNM format, Fantasy Standard!

This unique format is, as the name implies, a Standard that never existed, made of 7 randomly selected sets from Magic's history, that rotates every 6 months. The current format lasts through June 24th and consists of Modern Masters 2015, Theros, Born of the Gods, Journey into Nyx, Phyrexia: All Will Be One, Urza's Destiny, and Eventide.

As usual, this event will be 100% proxy-friendly. It will also be free to enter with Promo Packs handed out to each entrant. In addition we'll have a couple of decks to borrow for this and our other new events for those who are interested!

Thank you to the fine folks at Card Castle Games in Columbus, Ohio who created the format and have been running it for several years! If you are interested, they also have a Discord server where they discuss decks and post results from their weekly events!

Starting this upcoming Monday our event schedule is going to look quite a bit different! We're especially excited for some new, experimental, Magic the Gathering additions. Friday night Fantasy Standard (see our next post for an explanation), Saturday Premodern, and Sunday Pauper. Additionally, we're adding another Commander day on Friday, converting our Saturday Grand Archive event to the new Pantheon format, and adding an open play Warhammer/Tabletop day on Sundays (We recommend using our Discord to organize games).

Hi , we wanted to let you all know that we will be open during the Ice Out of MN general strike that's going on this Friday the 23rd, for those of you participating in the strike or for after the march has concluded.

We've all seen the fear and violence that the recent ICE presence has brought to our city. The murder of Renee Good, the deployment of chemical weapons in our streets, and more personally, an attempted raid on one of our neighbors just a few doors down at Wrecktangle Pizza. It's not much, but all of us here at Steamship wouldn't feel right if we didn't stand in solidarity with our local community this Friday regardless.

On an in-store pickup order of 10 cards or less, where the order total exceeds $50 (before tax), a 20% discount will be applied to the order, providing a maximum of $100 of discount. If the order is placed and not paid for and picked up by Monday, the discount will no longer apply. Please remember to pick up your orders :)

Hey all, just wanted to let any followers here that haven't heard about it in-store or via the Discord, but we will be closed from today through Thanksgiving, as we are going to be doing some renovations and changes to the shop layout in preparation for Black Friday.

Howdy folks! We're doing a little something special for the Spider-Man Prerelease tomorrow and Saturday, with two promotions going on while supplies last! When purchasing a Play or Collector box of SPM, you will receive an extra goodie as a buy-a-box promo in addition to the promo card provided by WotC! Play Box purchasers will be given a random vintage comic book that features Spider Man, some of the options in the pool are actual original copies from way back in the day (condition varies), and some are reprints (though they were still manufactured before MtG was even around!) Collector Box purchasers will be given a choice between three random options from the same pool as Play Boxes.

In addition to the buy-a-box promotion, we are also putting some of the rarer and really cool vintage comics into raffles that will occur during each of the Prerelease events, and at the end of the Saturday Prerelease event whoever is top ranked at the end of the rounds will receive a complete original set (Issues 1-6) of Spider Man: Blue, which was published in 2002.

The goal of these promotions is to showcase the classic pieces of historical media that the MtG set is depicting, and bring some extra joy to the Prereleases! We hope to see you there!

Unfortunate news :

Due to issues involving the previous owner being out of town, business liability insurance, and other various issues that came up today, Steamship will be closed until the business deal is fully closed on.

That all said, stay tuned as once things get finished up (hoping for mid-August) I will be doing a big Grand Reopening event, featuring sales/promotions that will include many products, even some singles. I'll be posting about that in advance when I'm closer to having a date for that event to be taking place.

My apologies for any inconvenience this causes, this type of business stuff is always going to have strange delays come up at the worst moments.

Hi there folks! Things have been a swirl with the shop recently but they've been mostly sorted out, so I am proud to announce that we will be reopening tomorrow, the 25th, with our business hours changing to 4-9 Tuesday - Friday, 12-6 Saturday, and closed on Sunday & Monday. It is on the docket to have hours changed again to be open longer throughout the day (and opening on Mondays & Sundays) but it will likely be a few weeks as we get settled in with transition of ownership and everything surrounding it before that can happen smoothly.

I'd also like to announce (and apologize for the short notice) that we will be hosting two Prerelease events for Edge of Eternities this weekend, 6pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday. Event fee will be $35 and there will be prize support in EoE packs available for everyone.
