📣 BIG NEWS 📣 The grand re-opening of Lake City Books will be on Friday, July 17th - exactly one month from today!

📍New address: 120 S Carroll St

📆Our current location will stay open through Sunday July 5th, then we close temporarily while we move everything over, and re-open at the new location less than 10 days later... a totally rational and doable timeline made by a sane person 🤪

✂️Join us for a public ribbon cutting at 10 am on Friday, July 17th, and lots of fun activities all weekend including: authors signings, raffle prizes, pop-up vendors, and discounted new merch! Details TBA.

📚In the meantime, come buy books at the store to help us reduce how many we are moving! We already have 50% off bins and discount shelves, and we will keep adding sale items until we close on July 5th.

ONE MONTH LEFT. LET’S GO.

TONIGHT is our LAST author event in our current location, and it’s a doozie!🤯🤯🤯 We hope you will brave the rain and show up for this great author, and then you can say you were there for our last event at 107 Hamilton St!

Joseph Eckert is a UW grad and just published his first book: THE TRAVELER from Tor Books 🧳 A novel of speculative fiction about a reluctant time traveler and his son, and the bond between them that even a millennia cannot break.

This book would make a fantastic Father’s Day gift, and Joseph will even be in conversation with his own father at this talk! Don’t miss it 💙

Did you know we carry UK editions of some popular books? They often have different (and debatably “better”) covers, and they come out in paperback sooner than US editions. In other good news, we will be expanding our UK section at the new location!

📣Introducing a tribute to our local tributary, the Yahara River, at the new location of Lake City Books! Because what would our Lake City be without the Yahara??

The 62-mile long Yahara River connects Lakes Mendota, Monona, Wingra, Waubesa, and Kegonsa in a chain that winds through south-central Wisconsin. A fun fact is courtesy of 🐟 It is also the dividing line for the 53703 vs. 53704 zip codes, and cuts through the Isthmus near its smallest width.

TBH this curvy soffit was already in the space so I asked them to paint it our brand of Lakeshore blue so we can call it a river 😎 EMBRACE THE WHIMSY YALL there is more where that came from…
