SareptaJane Books

SareptaJane Books Online shop specializing in signed First Edition children's books I will be adding these books to my shop as time permits.

My Etsy shop specializes in signed First Edition books, including lots beautifully illustrated, award-winning children's literature; and mystery and crime novels. I also have a dwindling supply of Silver Age Marvel comics; autographed celebrity photographs; vintage books; and paper ephemera. I will also be featuring items that don't fit easily into the usual categories -- things like old travel gu

ides, booklets of newspaper reprints, autographed television production scripts, and illustrated calendars. Many of the items have interesting histories or back stories, so I hope you'll take time to read the descriptions. Two years ago, I acquired part of an extensive collection of children's books accumulated over a period of 30+ years by a children's television executive and bibliophile who focused on purchasing signed, first editions. I have also recently acquired scores of late 20th century mystery, crime, and thriller novels that are First Editions signed by the author(s). There are now several hundred books available for me to post, but it's going to take more than a few days to do that. Please check back often (or favorite this shop) if you want to see what's new and exciting.

Author of 20 children's books, Jamie Gilson made her publishing debut in 1978 with "Harvey the Beer Can King." The story is about Harvey Trumble, a sixth-grade boy who wants to win the SuperKids Contest. He thinks he's a sure thing, because no other kid in town has such an unusual hobby: Harvey has a collection of hundreds of beer cans.

Narrated by Harry, this is a hilarious tale of his misadventures as he tries to win the contest.

We have a new (never-been-read) hardcover copy in our shop for sale for just $15. Snap this one up and enjoy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/162451032/harvey-the-beer-can-king-by-jamie-gilson?

Eve Bunting has written more than 200 books for children and young adults, but "Terrible Things," originally suggested for readers aged 5-8, is a book that should be read by people of all ages.

An allegory of the Holocaust, "Terrible Things" is "based on the premise that the Holocaust would not have happened had the civilians of Germany objected to their neighbors being harmed." In the book, woodland animals are being carried away, one type after another, by the "Terrible Things." We learn what is happening through the eyes of a child (Little Rabbit).

We have a First Edition of this book illustrated by Stephen Gammell in our shop: https://etsy.me/3HyLSHA

"Contrary to what some naysayers predicted, physical paper books seem to be more relevant than ever... Book lovers still seek the visual and tactile experience of physical books, even the smell of ink on paper."

Properly arranged books add style and personality to a home. Sometimes, they add memories and conversation topics, too.

When the book was published in 1995, the Publishers' Weekly reviewer bestowed effusive praise on it, writing, "A visual tour de force, Johnson's ingenious alphabet book transcends the genre by demanding close inspection of not just letters, but the world."

This brilliantly conceived and illustrated book is currently available in our store. More details here: https://etsy.me/3dW5jwQ
