But the back? That’s where I really got to play with moody design elements: unique tile, dramatic lighting, and all the atmosphere! It’s the main hangout spot where you’ll spend time creating and connecting.

Sixty days. Floors, walls, finishes, facade. Can we actually pull this off?!

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous right now. There's still SO much to do before we open the doors to Spark.

But we're finally hitting our stride and I can see it all coming together!

Sure it'll be cool to see all the design pieces come together, but honestly? I'm most excited about the moment people actually walk in and experience Spark for the first time. That's what all of this is for!

Spark Scent Collective is hiring!

Spark is a bespoke fragrance studio and gathering space, and as we prepare to open our studio in downtown Elmhurst, we are looking for thoughtful, reliable individuals to join our founding team.

We are currently hiring for the following part-time roles:

• Studio & Events Lead (21+, keyholder role)

• Studio Associate (18+)

• Junior Studio Associate (under 18)

These roles are ideal for individuals who are organized, dependable, and enjoy working in a structured, guest-focused environment. Hospitality, retail, food service, or event experience is helpful, but equally important is reliability, attention to detail, and pride in your work!

Spark is designed to be a place of creativity, structure, and meaningful experience, both for guests and for the team building it.

True coziness isn't just about soft lighting and comfortable seating. It's about creating a place where you can fully be yourself with the people you love.

And that's what this room is all about.

Picture this: a stunning chandelier overhead, multiple tables for gathering, and that moody-magical-whimsical vibe throughout. This will be the spot where you linger, connect, and make memories.

At Spark, picking your scent is just the beginning...now comes the fun part!

I wanted to make sure Spark offers way more than basic glass jars.

For our candle selections, you'll be able to choose from one-wick or three-wick candles, plus fun seasonal shapes like pumpkins, trees, and hearts depending on what time of year you visit!

Not into candles? No problem! You can make custom diffusers and room sprays, too (I've got a few other surprises in the works, so stay tuned!)

What makes a space unforgettable instead of just functional? For me, it's this gorgeous counter 🖤

I was walking past a bar in Amsterdam and stopped dead in my tracks. This granite counter (dark and moody with this incredible gold veining) was unlike anything I'd seen before.

I learned it was Black Ta**us (also called Black Magma or Magma Gold) and I had to have it for Spark.

The activity counter is what you'll see as soon as you walk in, so that sets the stage for the entire Spark experience.

And I know this will deliver that whimsical, elevated feeling I'm after!

Here's what nobody tells you about renovating old buildings: your plans WILL change. Drastically.

And we hit a major challenge: how do you fit two bathrooms into 1,200 square feet without sacrificing the entire vibe?

My architect, Erica, came up with a genius solution: a shared sink station between two water closets.

And, even better, this actually gave us MORE usable space. Sometimes the best ideas come from the biggest constraints!
