If you grew up in the Akron area, Rolling Acres Mall was where you spent your Saturdays. Under that big skylit atrium, the whole community seemed to pass through at one point or another, riding the glass elevators and circling the food court by the fountain. 🛍️
It was more than a place to shop. It was where teenagers met up, where families killed a rainy afternoon, and where you always ran into somebody you knew. The plants trailing over the railings, the sound of the fountain, the shine of those tile floors, all of it just felt like home.
Malls like this were the heart of so many Ohio towns, and losing them felt like losing a gathering place we did not realize we would miss so much. The memories, though, are still crystal clear.
What store did you always head to first at Rolling Acres?
