Jersey Water

Jersey Water We're here to help. Call us on 01534 707300 for general enquiries. Our sole function is to provide a wholesome water supply to our customers.

With a history dating back to 1882, The Jersey New Waterworks Company Limited is the oldest established Company on the Island of Jersey. Growing to meet the challenges of a rapidly expanding Island population with limited natural water reserves – nearly all of the Island’s water supply is derived from rainfall. To do this we must collect untreated or ‘raw’ water, store it, treat it and then distri

bute it to our customers’ taps. You are welcome to visit our two biggest reservoirs at Queens Valley and Val de la Mare which have countryside trails for you to enjoy.

Thinking of visiting Val de la Mare reservoir over the next couple of weeks?

From today (Monday 1 June), Infrastructure and Environment - I&E will be carrying out drainage works affecting the top car park (La Grande Route de St Pierre entrance).

Access will be available most of the time, however there will be a short period where the entrance is closed while works are carried out directly across the entrance of the reservoir

Not to worry. You will still be able to access the reservoir from the bottom car park (St Ouen’s side) during this time.

Thanks for your patience while I&E carry these works.

We've got the road back open with temporary traffic lights.

Around ten properties are without water and we've put some temporary overground pipes in place to keep businesses supplied while we do the repairs.

If you are without water, speak to our team on site or contact our Customer Services team and we will make sure we get water to you.

We’re working to restore full service as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience.

Road closed La Grande Route des Sablons near the Pembroke Pub due to a pretty big leak. More than 60 properties are temporarily without water.

Our team is on the case to try to fix this as quickly as possible and get supplies back on.

Hot weather causing havoc with the pipework.

We hope to have this repaired quickly so customers have water again on another warm morning.

If you can avoid the area, please do.

Bear with us and check in for updates

**Update - We've fixed the little sprinkler that appeared on the Pier this morning. There's some temporary boarding on the pavement until the tarmac is laid tomorrow, and four parking spaces are out of use for the moment. Otherwise it's business as usual. Thanks to all of the folk on the Pier for their patience and support.**

Something’s gone pop on the pier, mah luv eh!

Our team is currently dealing with a burst main at Gorey Pier, just outside The Moorings.

All restaurants and amenities remain open and accessible, but parking will be limited while we carry out the work.

Thanks for your patience and check back here for updates.

You know what we’re going to say…

Yup, someone’s turned up the heat and taps are on full blast.

During this heat wave, all of us are using a whopping 23 million a day! That’s three million more compared to the typical daily average for May.

Staying hydrated is a must, but cutting back on non-essential use is very much an option and will help our water stocks last the summer.

Reservoirs are currently in a healthy position at 96% full, but with not much rain and these hot, hot, hot conditions, we know how quickly that might change…

120 days of water is the reality that our Island faces without rain, so we all need to help protect what we've got.

We’ve seen a few posts lately about sea water quality in Jersey, so just to clarify...

Jersey Water is responsible for supplying drinking water to homes and businesses across the Island. We don’t manage sewerage, drainage or sea water quality. That sits with the Government of Jersey - Infrastructure and Environment - I&E.

We know people care deeply about the Island’s beaches and water quality and so do we! If you’re looking for updates or have concerns about sea water, the best place to get accurate information is from I&E.
