Ask Paul Heaton how many songs he’s written and he’ll tell you he’s not really sure. Perhaps that’s unsurprising: this summer it’s 40 years since The Housemartins released their debut album, Hull: 0 London: 4, peaking at number 3 in Britain. Subsequently, he’s released, in various configurations – with The Housemartins and The Beautiful South, solo and with Jacqui Abbot, not to mention as Biscuit Boy –another 21 studio albums, plenty going gold, some multi-platinum, as they’ve risen to the charts’ highest reaches. For each, moreover, he’ll have written many many more songs than he’ll ever include.

Now, less than two years since The Mighty Several – itself his sixth album to go Top 5 in a dozen years – this prolific, poetic observer of human nature is back with another fifteen gems. Silly or serious, poignant or pointed, therein lies Paul Heaton’s Jenius.

To celebrate, the Isle of Wight five-piece have announced moisturizer (deluxe), an expanded set that includes remixes from horsegiirL, The Dare and FDC DJs (aka Carlos O’Connell and Tom Coll of Fontaines D.C.); three songs previously unreleased on streaming comprising “hi from me” which was originally only available on the Japanese CD, a demo of “don’t speak” recorded by Hester at her home studio and “u and me at home intro/outro” – the first part of which fans will recognise as the band’s walk-on music. The deluxe album is rounded off with a handful of live recordings made at LA’s The Village studios in 2025.

By the release of Songs To Learn & Sing, Echo & The Bunnymen were a force to be reckoned with, pioneering the post-punk, new wave scene having released four highly acclaimed albums, Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine and Ocean Rain. Originally released in 1985, Songs To Learn & Sing is a comprehensive collection of Echo & The Bunnymen’s first four albums, from their second single Rescue, to The Cutter and the anthemic The Killing Moon. Also included is Bring On The Dancing Horses, a single launched at the time in conjunction with Songs To Learn & Sing.

Bunnymen are on a large world tour in 2026 and to celebrate there will be a new colour vinyl edition of the album on yellow and black marble, with the first release of the album on colour vinyl selling out immediately back in 2022.

The band’s hugely successful second compilation released in 1994, The Best Of New Order features 7” mixes of the band’s classic hits from 1985 onwards, plus four new ‘94 mixes. The accompanying remix album The Rest Of New Order was released the following year in 1995 led by Blue Monday-95, a remix by Hardfloor. Both albums reached the top5 of UK albums charts and featured all the band’s iconic tracks including ‘True Faith’, ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’, ‘Blue Monday 88, ‘Regret’ and ‘World in Motion’

Both albums will be released as separate vinyl albums with remastered audio cut at Abbey Road. The Rest Of New Order is now a 3LP set and compiles all 12 songs from the original vinyl release for the first time.

Four of Kylie Minogue’s studio albums will be released on vinyl on 7th August, some for the very first time. Light Years and Aphrodite were released on a very limited run, Kiss Me Once is on a 1LP for the first time having only been released as a 2LP in a limited special edition set, and X will be on vinyl for the very first time.

It comes as Kylie Minogue’s life and career is set to be displayed in an incredible Netflix three-part series titled “KYLIE” on 20th May, exploring how she reshaped pop and became one of music’s most enduring icons, selling over 80 million records.
