REPORT: Fishing on the canal, I was catching plenty of fish when this Perch absolutely smashed the dropshot lure. A great fight followed before a quick photo and a safe release.

SPECIES: Pike

SIZE: N/A

REPORT: Absolutely chuffed with this one. I came across a small waterfall in shallow water and as the lure passed by a branch, the Pike exploded out of the water and hit it. It’s hard to believe fish of this size even exist in the river. A truly memorable capture.

FISH OF THE MONTH ENTRY.

SIZE: 86cm / 14lb

REPORT: Had an unbelievable fish today on one of my own Flying Cs that I make and sell, a purple body with a silver size 3 blade. The fish absolutely hammered it after about 10 minutes and went on 19 runs right across to the other side of the river. One of the hardest-fighting fish I’ve had in a long time. Delighted that it came on a Flying C I made myself.

FISH OF THE MONTH ENTRY.

SIZE: 165lb / 175cm
REPORT: On an all-day fishing trip, after already catching a smaller Blue Shark earlier in the day, we hooked into this incredible fish on a Po***ck head. It fought hard for around 20 minutes before we safely brought her alongside the boat. After being measured and weighed, she was safely released to swim away strong.

REPORT: Caught in North Donegal on an Abu Garcia 10-30g rod using lugworm. This beautiful Ballan Wrasse measured just over 45cm and put up a great fight before being landed safely.
