Today is Poetry Day Ireland! ✍️ 📚

“Poetry Ireland is thrilled to announce Poetry Day Ireland 2024 will take place on Thursday 25th April. Celebrating its 10th birthday this year, Poetry Day Ireland is an annual island-wide celebration of poetry which invites the nation to read, write, and share a poem on the day.

Our theme for this year is “Good Sports” celebrating the good sport in all of us, the drive to give it a go or to have a crack at it. Join us as we celebrate the Olympic year, the clash of the ash, the narrow miss, the kick of a ball, the roar of the crowd, the crushing defeat, the herculean feat, the triumph, and our willingness to be good sports in all aspects of our lives.“ - Poetry Day Ireland
