I wanted to showcase what or store goes through on a Friday. The photos below show a cumulation of the increasing damage we’ve been seeing to our stock over the last several months. This equates to about a FULL BIN of product that was destroyed this week. It’s about $3000 of loss.
I have to remind everyone that we are a store, not a rage room. Tampering with, breaking, or destroying product is a crime. If the below photos continue then we will no longer be around in a few weeks time. We will convert the store into a discount retail store, similar to how MM works. No more daily price drops, treasure hunts, and amazing finds in the bins. This is why so many bin stores are closing or changing into other models.
We would like to keep bringing you the awesomeness of the bins. This venture feeds 4 local families. But right now it’s just destruction and loss.
So, in an effort to keep the bins for you, we’re going to have to get extremely strict from now on:
- we are installing more security cameras with recording to catch ALL angles of the store and closeups of people’s hands in the bins. We will be watching the footage and using it as necessary to combat the high levels of theft and damage. We will press charges to the full extent of the law. We already had to file a police report last week on one customer.
- new policy regarding opening items! This week is T@rget stock and it’s all visibly clear what everything is and if it’s complete! No one should be opening ANYTHING! We will allow testing of items, but they MUST be brought to a member of staff to do so.
- Anyone opening items will be charged for every item they open, regardless of taking it or not. Refusal to do so will result in the video footage being given to the police and charges filed. We will do this as many times as we need to until this damage and theft stops. We are a store, not a playground.
- All children are the responsibility of their guardian. If they open, damage, or suck on any items, you have to purchase them.
- No items are to be removed from their respective packaging. We WILL open all packaging to inspect what is inside and ensure it is only the respective items. Theft will not be tolerated.
We are now zero tolerance for theft, damage, or bad behavior.
If you love our store then please help us keep going. We don’t expect you to beat people up, but you can always let staff know so we can save the security footage and deal with it accordingly.
Thank you to all of you who follow the rules and make running this business bearable. All of us at the Bargain Binz family appreciate you!
