This is a great way to get an overview over which kind of plants work well as groundcovers in the shade. From ferns, vinca, ajuga's in all colors to lamium, lily of the valley and sweet woodruff there are lots of options. However, as much as we love them to spread in certain spots, they also spread in places we might not want them. So be wise as to where you choose to plant them.
