At VIVA PIMA!, volunteers and staff work side by side to strengthen our community. Thrift-store revenue, grants, and donations provide children with new school clothing, support neighbors rebuilding after homelessness or domestic violence, and help local nonprofits serve their clients. Volunteers make this impact possible.

Position Summary
If you enjoy connecting people with meaningful opportunities, this role offers the chance to shape a welcoming, effective volunteer program. You will lead recruitment, onboarding, placement, communication, recognition, recordkeeping, and compliance while partnering with staff and volunteer leaders to strengthen satisfaction, retention, leadership, and organizational capacity.

Responsibilities
· Build a strong pipeline of prospective volunteers through year-round outreach, community events, and prompt, welcoming follow-up.
· Lead and support volunteers who assist with recruitment, screening, onboarding, placement, scheduling, communications, recognition, and recordkeeping. Provide training, clear direction, thoughtful delegation, and constructive feedback while remaining accountable for confidentiality, compliance, quality, and timely completion.
· Match volunteers to organizational needs and ensure they understand VIVA PIMA!’s mission, policies, safety practices, confidentiality standards, and role expectations.
· Coordinate orientation, role-specific training, coaching, and timely communications so volunteers are prepared, informed, and supported.
· Build relationships, respond to concerns, act on feedback, create leadership pathways, and recognize volunteer contributions through activities and stories.
· Coordinate volunteer schedules and coverage with staff and volunteer leaders, identify gaps, and help resolve coverage needs.
· Maintain accurate service-hour, clearance, and assignment records and protect confidential information.
· Track recruitment, participation, retention, satisfaction, and engagement. Use trends in the data to recommend improvements to leadership.
· Maintain volunteer policies, role descriptions, and training resources; recommend improvements and new ways to engage.
