This kind of support means a lot, especially toward recovering from the fraud attack. A special shout out to for the generous gift, and to everyone supporting monthly! THANK YOU, it means more than you can understand 😭

And while one-time donations help in big moments like this, what keeps Lumikha running long-term is monthly support! Right now we’re at $85 / $350 per month, which means we’re not sustainable yet, but we’re getting closer.

Keep Lumikha Cosplay Resale online🎀

Lumikha Cosplay Resale turns 5 years old this year! 🥳🎉

What started as an idea in 2019, then founded in 2021, has grown into a thriving marketplace with $60,000+ in cosplay resale, 4,600+ listings, and 5,000+ users.

But keeping Lumikha online comes with real costs: $350/month for hosting and essential tools. For most of the past five years, I’ve covered this personally.

🩷 You can help keep Lumikha running! Even a small monthly Ko-fi membership goes a long way. If just 70 people support at $5/month, the marketplace can be sustained long-term.

Without this support, the marketplace will likely have to close, as financial hardship has made this difficult to manage on my own.

In 2022, Lumikha was impacted by a fraud attack that left the platform with nearly $2,000 in payment processor debt. While the main focus of this campaign is making the platform sustainable going forward, one-time donations also help reduce that balance and move Lumikha toward a healthier future.

🩷Buy Secondhand First
Check resale platforms like Lumikha Cosplay Resale before buying new to reduce waste and extend a costume’s life.

🩵Reuse & Rework Old Cosplays
Restyle wigs, repaint props, or remix pieces into new looks instead of starting from scratch.

🩷Borrow or Swap with Friends!
Trade costumes within your community to save money and reduce overproduction.

🩵Repair, Don’t Replace
Fix seams, re-glue props, and patch tears to keep your cosplay convention-ready.

🩷Use on hand materials
Instead of purchasing new foam, cardboard, or paper, try to reuse what you already have around your home.

🩵Do closet cosplays
Casual and closet cosplays are a great way to have fun and cosplay with regular clothes you have in your closet.

🩷Wear your costumes again and again!
Don’t feel the need to debut a new cosplay at every con.
Change your makeup, wig styling, etc if you want to upgrade your cosplay!

🩵Get creative!
The easiest solution you’ll hear is to “just buy it.” But by getting creative with materials and techniques, you can make a ton and have more fun!

Integrate these 3 pillars into your 2026 cosplay plan.

REDUCE:
Reduce the number of new costumes you make per year. By cutting down on new materials, shipping costs, and bought costumes, you reduce your carbon footprint.

The less you buy, the less you’re likely to waste!

REUSE:
Reuse materials from costumes you already finished, or repurpose props & pieces from old costumes.

“stash busting” cosplay projects will let you flex creativity and use up material!

RECOSPLAY:
Recosplay cosplays you’ve done before. Do them again! There will always be folks who haven’t seen the costume, or those who will be excited to see it again!

You can always improve, change details, and take photos in new locations.
