Author and former Tallahassee Democrat columnist Mary Ann Lindley is coming to The Bookshelf for a signing on Saturday, June 6 from 1 - 3 p.m.! ✍️📖 Mary Ann will sign copies of her cultural memoir, FRAGMENTS: THEN & NOW.

📕 FRAGMENTS: THEN & NOW is a compendium of newspaper columns from Mary Ann’s 40 year career in journalism, primarily for the Tallahassee Democrat. These “fragments” are particles of Florida history, ideas, and curiosities that sum up the spirit of their times. 🐊🏝️

📗 In FRAGMENTS, you’ll find cultural gems divided into eight sections: from Florida history and culture to notes from Mary Ann’s younger self to reflections on the news business itself and beyond. 📝 You’ll also discover Mary Ann’s reflections from today that reframe her earlier work through the lens of a seasoned reporter and cultural observer.

📘 Author Sharon-Kant Rauch says it best: “Part memoir, part history lesson, part keen social critique, Mary Ann Lindley’s FRAGMENTS offers much more than a collection of columns culled from decades of writing. 📚🖋️ She gives us a picture of a whole woman who has traversed the American social terrain from the 20th century into the 21st with wit, compassion and deep thinking. She’ll challenge your opinions, make you laugh, and in the end, allow you to feel gratitude for our crazy, messy world.”

📙 If you’re interested in Florida culture and history, you don’t want to miss Mary Ann Lindley’s signing for FRAGMENTS: THEN & NOW on Saturday, June 6 from 1 - 3 p.m. at The Bookshelf! 📖
