Today we remember the brilliant and irreplaceable Kris Kristofferson on his birthday. A Rhodes scholar, an airborne ranger, and an absolute poet, he permanently changed the language of Nashville. By injecting raw emotional honesty, vulnerability, and literary depth into his music, he wrote some of the greatest songs of all time, including "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," "Help Me Make It Through the Night," and "Me and Bobby McGee."

Whether he was tearing up the fingerboard with The Country Gentlemen, pushing genres with his wife Martha in their wonderful duos, or mentoring the next generation of players, Eddy approached music with unmatched passion and a fiercely independent spirit.

Wishing a very Happy Birthday to the incredibly talented Dan Tyminski. For decades, his commanding vocals and flawless acoustic guitar and mandolin rhythm have defined the sound of modern bluegrass. From his legendary work with Alison Krauss and Union Station to his brilliant solo projects and his iconic vocal performance on "Man of Constant Sorrow," he remains one of the most powerful and influential forces in acoustic music today.
