My thoughts on the music industry and AI:
Iām not a fan. Obviously. With the advent of platforms where you can find most all recorded music and the writers/performers get pennies on the dollar, if anything at all, is just the start of the āLetās take everything that is created and make money off the backs of real artists and give them nothingā attitude in the modern era. Now with AI singers, actors, pop bands, etc. they can take more and more of what we create. Movies can make more money, music platforms can make more and the artists get less and less.
The only way I can see to combat this for now is to go see a play, Shakespeare in The Park, concerts, local clubs, festivals. At least right now they canāt AI live events (if you donāt count the ridiculous āhologram ā music s**t they put out) and the creative events that happen moment to moment become more and more precious as they encroach on our art little by little and in huge swaths. To be honest I would even live to see painters and graphic artists do events in public. One of my favorite documentaries was a Pablo Picasso one and he created right there on screen. All of the art was to be destroyed after the filming and the movie was to be the artists expression.
Any way come see your local band, community theater, join in a music jam, etc. if you want this art to thrive again.
