A stone from a ring that broke. A gem passed down that never became anything. A handful of pieces you loved once and forgot about.

This pendant started as a collection of stones. Garnet, opal, jade, sapphire, diamonds and an amethyst that became the crown of the whole piece. Every single one found its place in something that will be worn every day instead of sitting in the dark.

We're going somewhere new.

Seven posts in and we've shown you diamonds. Today we're introducing our first colored stone. An oval green sapphire. And yes, it changes everything about how you guess.

Here's the one thing to know before you play. Colored stones are cut to maximize color, not carat weight. Which means this stone faces up larger than a diamond of the same weight would. Your instinct is probably off. That's the point.
