Meet Mama Gesa & Baby Tuva from .
Gesa was rescued from the dairy industry. She was pregnant with Tuva when she was rescued and was able to fully raise her baby in peace, in nature at Elf.
Over nine million mother cows are enslaved by the dairy industry in the US, kept in a state of constant forced impregnation. When their babies are born, they're immediately stolen. All dairy is extracted from a heartbroken, grieving mother who cannot consent to any of this. When they stop producing milk, they're m*rdered. Humane dairy from happy cows is a marketing myth to keep people consuming. The dark truth is hard to look at. It exposes our complicity in a brutal and tragic system.
The fact that Elf has saved these two is such a rare and beautiful thing, and a glimpse of hope. They provide a humane forever home for dozens of animals with similarly heroic salvation stories.
