I wanna be the type of person who has her act together enought to have beautiful graphics of all the new releases coming in to the store and have them all posted by Tuesday morning. So far I am not that person, but I have 💖aspirations 💖

For now you’ll have to enjoy these photos of the what feels like 200 new releases I shelved today.

There are so many good ones, I’m especially looking forward to Puck, (Samantha Allen is a local author), Baby & The Howlers (I love Kathryn Moon’s Lola & The Millionaires), The Disaster Gay Detective Agency by Lev AC Rosen, Shattered Gods by Katee Robert (you rarely see F/F/F pairings!), Game of Rogues by Julie Anne Long, The Secret World of Briar Rose (sapphic sleeping beauty retelling!), and since I have a general interest section I love that I can bring in random books like Hit Girls by Nora Princiotti (about 2000s female pop stars).

Which books are you most looking forward to?

Taylor’s ( ) May AAPI Pick: Behind Five Willows by 🌸

Gosh this new release swept me away! Fans of Jane Austen and You Got Mail will definitely enjoy this one! A Pride and Prejudice retelling set during a period of cutthroat book censorship during Korea’s Joseon Dynasty. It follows a nobleman who secretly pens the nation’s most popular novels and a commoner who transcribes his works for the subversive Five Willows bookshop. They start an anonymous letter correspondence and quickly develop feelings for one another, unknowingly crossing paths in real life. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a unique, well-paced historical romance!

Themes: enemies to lovers, societal pressures, class constraints, censorship, epistolary correspondence.
