Push/Pull needs help 💔

For the last two years, Push/Pull has been been operating at a loss.

Year-over-year revenue has been down for these two years, while all of our expenses have gone up. We've been juggling bills and making hard decisions about which payments will be late.

Unfortunately, we're out of runway on how much longer we can delay a large tax bill, and we've exhausted options for loans and other financial assistance. So we could really use your help.

MyBallard interview with Maxx below! We mention it on the GFM page too, but hopefully this article helps shed a bit more light on why a lot of stuff has been out of stock... we know it's been frustrating for customers, and it's driving us crazy too! We want stuff to be in stock!! Sometimes distributors just straight-up cancel our orders without explanation tho, or an order arrives with half the stuff missing bc it became out of stock at the distributor between us ordering and them packing. Some have just stopped stocking the stuff we used to order, & no one else carries it.

We know it sucks to come in and not be able to find or get what you need, but it does still help us to let us know what you're looking for. We can't promise when we'll have it back, but it helps us prioritise. With extremely limited buying power, we have to be very picky about what to order and how much. The vicious cycle is that we really can't afford for product to sit around, but we also can't order enough, or fast enough, to replace product immediately when it sells, so shelves often look empty.

Taking some classes and trying out some of our store-made products helps! Hopefully we'll be able to get back to a place where we can balance supply/demand, but with ongoing trade wars, oil wars, etc, things may be rough for a while yet. We appreciate your understanding, support, and patience!

Ballard art hub Push/Pull is asking the community for help after years of declining foot traffic, supply shortages, and financial struggles.

We have new hours, effective TUESDAY, November 3!

To trim costs where we can, we're closing an hour earlier every day and will no longer be open early on Sundays. We're STILL OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK though and you can always order stuff online!

If you're not in the Seattle area or Ballard's a tough trip (lightrail before we're all dead pls... 😭), we can ship stuff! Or you can pick up orders in-store (but please do actually remember to pick up!!) The online store is also a great way to check if something's in stock -- if it's not showing up online, then it's not in stock. Keep an eye on our weekly newsletter for stock updates!! As mentioned in our GoFundMe, there's a lot of reasons things have been harder to get in, but we're trying!!
