At The Comic Book Presser, my goal is to improve the quality and VALUE of your comic collection. I can work on a single book or an entire run. I have experience removing moisture waves, spine rolls, non-color breaking creases, bends, dents, writing imprints, dry cleaning and many other defects. I am currently working on books from all ages - Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, Copper Age and Mode

rn. I grew up reading and drawing comics every chance that I had. I have always loved this amazing hobby as an art form and years later also from a collector and dealers point of view. Through the years, I have found pressing and cleaning comics brings all of these interests together and is an artistic release in its own right. While a pressing out a few dents and wrinkles is exciting to see the book improved and value gained, what excites me the most are the books that truly need a resurrection. Bringing books that are water damaged or have a horrid spine roll and wrinkled pages back to life is what I really enjoy working on. When you send me your books, I will take the time and care needed to achieve the best possible condition and outcome. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Animation. When I'm not pressing or reading comic books, I am usually animating these days. I have been animating as a career since 1998 and have been working in the video game industry from 2008. I started out at Neversoft Entertainment on the Guitar Hero franchise where I worked on five fast paced games. I am currently a Senior Animator at Infinity Ward working on my third Call of Duty game.

It was great working with our friend and his company on this incredible copy of X-Men 1!

After a professional dry clean and press, this book came back several grades higher than its original purchase grade, resulting in a significant improvement in both presentation and value.

Thank you to for trusting us with such an iconic Silver Age key!

A true Golden Age survivor from 1940.

This issue of More Fun Comics features an early adventure of The Spectre and is exactly the type of fragile book that demands patience and experience during pressing.

Thin paper.
80+ year old spine.
Brittle edges.

The goal is to preserve the integrity of the comic while safely improving the presentation and value as much as possible.

This is the BEFORE shot prior to pressing and cleaning.

All hail the queen, Niki. 👑

A local first time customer’s Watchmen 1 went from CGC 8.0 to 9.8 after buffing, pressing, and cleaning — all handled by Niki from start to finish.

The original grader’s notes?
“Moderate fingerprints and light scuffing on front cover.”

The book also had several large non-color breaking dents on the back cover, along with the type of fingerprints that sit on the surface of the book and can safely be removed — not the kind that have already caused ink loss.

That was enough to hold it at an 8.0.

After the work? The 9.8 came back with no grader’s notes at all.

In 15 years, this is absolutely one of the biggest bumps we’ve ever had.

Funny enough, we just took simple flat before and after shots of this one — nothing dramatic.

Sometimes the quiet ones end up being legendary.

SWIPE FOR MORE ➡️

Fragile Golden Age books are where experience really matters.

This one had heavy spine stress, waviness, bends, and years of wear that needed a careful approach from start to finish. The goal is to preserve the integrity of the book while bringing it back to life as safely as possible.

The before and after on this one says it better than I can.

Pressing since 2010.

Backstory time on these two copies of Wolverine 1.

I bought both of these off the shelf in 1988 the week they were released.

Years later, I had them signed by Len Wein, the co-creator of Wolverine, and graded through CBCS. Both came back 9.6s. Honestly, I was baffled. I really thought they had a shot at 9.8s.

One of them had a very slight fingerprint on the back cover in the black area of the John Byrne pinup. If you know this book, you know exactly how common that is. The black ink on the back is incredibly unforgiving. The fingerprint wasn’t something that could be cleaned or buffed out—it was slight ink loss.

So when I cracked them out for the Chris Claremont signing, I was honestly nervous. I thought there was a real chance that copy could drop, maybe even a couple grades.

Instead… both books came back CGC 9.8s.

Now they each have a JSA-authenticated Len Wein signature and a CGC witnessed Chris Claremont signature.

For books I bought off the rack as a kid in 1988, it’s pretty awesome to have these in 9.8s. And honestly, one of them I thought was a 9.8 the entire time.

Swipe to the second photo to see the original CBCS 9.6 grades before I cracked them out for the Claremont signing.
