With over 110 attendees, surprise special guests, and steep competition, this year’s Transportation Trivia was one for the books!

After four rounds of heated, deep-cut transportation-related questions, one team rose to the top. Congratulations to team CREAM (Cars Ruin Everything Around Me)-- our 2026 Transportation Trivia Champions!

Many thanks to all who joined us for this event– everyone’s presence and enthusiasm made this gathering truly special. We are deeply grateful to our regional community leaders, our generous sponsors, our inspiring speakers, dignitaries and the regional multi-modal community for making this event possible. It was truly inspiring to be in the same room with leaders advancing active transportation across our region building more livable communities.

Thanks to our community’s support, $21,349 was raised, effectively allowing us to help 85 more individuals access no-cost bicycles, bike education and safety accessories. If you didn’t have a chance to make a contribution at the event, you can still make a difference at the link below.

The Repair Hub is officially open for the 2026 season! We celebrated the occasion with a cookout, a bike giveaway for folks in the community, and doing what we always do best– fixing bikes. For more than a decade, the Repair Hub has been a place for folks in the surrounding community of New Columbia to access no-cost bike repair services and other resources to help people start, or get back to riding.

New for this year will be a series of community rides that start and end at the Repair Hub. Led by Natty, our Community Engagement Coordinator in North Portland, these rides are part of an ongoing effort to foster fun biking experiences by and for the community.

If you’re interested in volunteering at the Repair Hub, reach out to [email protected] to get involved.

Tonight is Transportation Trivia! We are, of course, excited to crown a new Trivia champion, but we're even more excited about what this event means to the communities we work with: connecting more people with access to bicycling-- children and adults alike!

Our goal of this year's Transportation Trivia Fundraiser is to raise $20,000-- enough support to provide bikes, gear, and education, to 80 new riders.

If you're not planning to attend the event this evening, you can still make an impact by making a donation directly on the event page linked below:

Today, we're asking you to help us connect one more bike and resources to a new rider. We can make it happen if just 5 supporters give $50 each!

Many thanks to our 2026 Transportation Trivia sponsors for powering our mobility!

Our goal for our Transportation Trivia fundraiser is to gather enough support to get 80 new riders in the saddle this year, and there are still 18 more riders depending on your support.

Providing people with the opportunity to experience the joy and independence that riding a bike brings is central to what we do. With freedom of mobility, a bike can unlock a world of possibilities! Just last week, a group of volunteers gathered to help us fix kids’ bikes that will be given away this year through our Repair Hub in North Portland. After 4 hours of concentrated wrenching, 21 bikes were refurbished.

This is just one small step in the process of getting people on bikes. The other part is making connections with community members and continuing to provide support and resources long after they have received bikes. This is what makes our programs special. It’s the continued support and long-term relationships with the communities we work with that make real change possible.

When you support our efforts of getting more people on bikes, your dollars go far beyond just paying for the cost of bicycles. Make a contribution to start making a lasting impact today!

5 cool things from the bike shop last week:

1. Nat and Butchie locked-in, hard at work in the office.

2. The best tube packaging ever created.

3. A very full DIY Workspace. Love to see it!

4. Cast metal(?) tri-spoke headed to salvage weighs a whopping 4.5 lbs.

5. Nifty demo bike contraption that we use for classes. This one's a real head scratcher 🤯

Last week a small but mighty crew of volunteers and staff met at our warehouse in North Portland to repair as many kids’ bikes as we could in one afternoon. With the Repair Hub season right around the corner, these bikes will soon be distributed to kids in the community who don’t have a bike to ride. After a few hours of dirty rags and bearing adjustments, there are now 20 more bikes ready for the neighborhood!

A huge thank you to the volunteers who made this possible. It was great to see some new faces out there too!

💫 Refurbished Bike Of The Week💫

Continuing with the theme of showing off our amazing selection of road bikes at the moment, we have another prime example: a Specialized Tarmac spec'd with 11-Speed Shimano 105.

It's the same carbon frame that comes on models 4x the price but none of the fuss. Rim brakes, alloy wheels, mechanical shifting-- all tried and true parts for an extremely fast, light, and fun bike.

Test rides are always free. Come take a spin!

Size: 54cm
Price: $1000

One of our primary strategies for broadening access to bikes is to equip people with the gear and education they need in order to ride. This means giving away hundreds of bikes each year to people who otherwise would not have access to one– children and adults alike!

Last year more than 120 community members received a bicycle from the Repair Hub in New Columbia thanks to the generous donations of our community of supporters! Today, we’re asking you to help us reach our Transportation Trivia Fundraising goal of equipping another 80 new riders with bikes, gear, and education this year. We’re more than halfway there!

🌟 REFURBISHED BIKE OF THE WEEK🌟

The bike to take you far, and stay comfortable doing it. The Cannondale Synapse is an endurance road bike. It's a full carbon frame-- it's lightweight, but unlike a lot of carbon road bikes on the market, it's focus is not on racing. That means it prioritizes compliance(comfort) over stiffness, making it an extremely smooth and enjoyable ride.

This bike features a full Shimano 11spd hydraulic Di2 groupset and high quality Mavic wheels. We tuned it up and put some beefier tires on to fend-off the flat tire faeries. We think you'll be surprised by how much fun this bike is to ride!

Test Rides are always free. Come take a spin!
