Finished the Camino a couple days ahead of planned schedule… more time to go do some book buying ;) I’ll share my new found treasures soon. Until then, treasure every day.

I spent the night at the Abbey of St. Guilhem-Le-Desert. Founded in 806, he was a cousin and advisor to Charlemagne.

Down the hall were his relics and a piece of the true cross. It would not fit in my backpack.

Vincent van Gogh arrived in Arles in 1888, and in the next 15 productive months, he produced more than 100 paintings and 200 sketches.

In December ‘89 after an altercation with his roommate, Paul Gauguin, van Gogh, sliced off his ear, wrapped it in a towel, gave it to a pr******te, and went back home to sleep off the absinthe.

Many of the places van Gogh painted around Arles are still there today, including the hospital, where he was treated
