As you may know, a federal court struck down parts of the NFA regarding registration of Silencers, SBRs, and AOWs.
Currently, this applies only in limited cases, depending on certain group membership at the time or the source of the item.
We, not loving the ATF and being strong Second Amendment supporters ourselves, want to start processing without Form 4s immediately. When we spoke with ATF this morning, their response was effectively, “Don’t change anything yet; we still issue your license.”
If this goes back and forth in the courts or anything changes, it will create a nightmare for all of us with the ATF - because believe me, they will want to know where those suppressors went.
We have spoken with dealers across the city and read statements from major players like Capitol Armory. We all are effectively in agreement on what is sensible.
MG is responsible for the livelihood of dozens of people. One mistake that can bring the government down on us could ruin it all, and they have no sympathy. We will serve our community and safeguard our staff the best by maintaining our FFL.
Until we receive clear, written guidance from the ATF and approval from counsel, we will adhere to the typical Form 4 process and proceed with business as usual. Please know we hate this as much as you do and look forward to bringing you updates!
