Don't forgot to check and replace your sprockets when needed! It's often easy to forget and the sprocket on a chainsaw is a high wear item, depending on what your cutting and how sharp or dull the chain is!
After 3+ years of use on my Stihl MS 271 Farm Boss it was time. Once the grooves start to wear down deeper in the sprocket go ahead and change it out and grease that needle bearing too!

This Stihl MS 270 Wood Boss came in for some maintenance/cleaning and to diagnose a problem that had been occurring for a while.
After getting the saw cleaned up and running it some, I figured out the coil ignition module was faulty and causing the saw to not restart after it was hot.
Got the new OEM part ordered and replaced and this chainsaw runs great now!

Spring is here and it’s a great time to get your chainsaw or 2 stroke equipment serviced!

Haven’t posted in a bit, been busy with other work.
I recently got a set of West Coast Saw 3-point felling dogs for my 462 to add some extra bite!
Paired with the chain roller and hardware kit these are super easy to install.
The difference from stock is huge and help tremendously for felling and bucking operations!

Remember to keep those air filters clean and check them regularly!
Depending on how much you are cutting I recommend checking them at least every week if you are a professional, and every couple times if you are a homeowner or use your chainsaw less.
Dirty air filters and build up in saw dust can eventually lead to dirt ingestion and scoring on your cylinder and piston if not cleaned. Poor Idle and lack of power can be caused by this too.
That’s exactly why this MS 462 had to get rebuilt!

Cleaning is super easy, either tap them out and blow them with some compressed air if it’s not very dirty, all though soap & warm water is by far the best way to get a thorough clean.

This Stihl MS 291 needed a few parts replaced on it: Muffler assembly, choke lever.

After a few years of heavy use the spark screen screw had stripped out and the choke lever had worn so it would not stay connected.
Little bit of work to get this saw running smoothly again!

Scored piston and cylinder?

No problem! We just wrapped up this new Stihl MS 462 top end rebuild. This saw had dirt ingestion which caused serious scoring on the intake and exhaust side of the piston and cylinder.
We got the parts order and replaced with a new OEM piston and cylinder plus a few more parts.
This saw is running like new now!

Remember to keep your air filters clean and run fresh fuel!
