Join us and local maker Amanda for a hand-sewing class! On Wednesday, August 26, Amanda will teach you how to hand-sew patchwork coasters out of adorable fabric scraps. This is a great intro class for anyone who’s curious about sewing, mending, or more sustainable crafting!

Amanda is a former middle grade teacher, a current toddler mom, and a sewing instructor at Remainders Creative Reuse in Pasadena. We are delighted to host her for our first-ever sewing class 🪡

We’re so excited to partner with Sable & Starlight to host a Bookish Charm Bar! Jen will have a variety of adorable bookish charms available for your perusal and selection in order to make a kindle charm, bag charm, or even a bookmark!

Each chain holds up to five charms in a variety of metal finishes so there are options to suit every taste!

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day, kittens! 🖤 (pictured first: Otis and Lola, BCF mascots)

It warmed my cold dead heart that the little black kittens at our adoption event on Saturday went home together. Black cats are typically the least adopted but brothers Peru and Odysseus found their forever home and get to stay besties forever 🥹

If you’re looking to adopt or if the cat distribution system ever offers you a tiny panther, I hope you jump at the opportunity. And I hope you take two! Kittens always do better in pairs 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Pasadena Humane still has lots of kittens available for adoption if you weren’t able to come to the event, so please pay them a visit 💜

We have a veerrrryyy exciting announcement for International Cat Day! 😸✨

Next Saturday, August 15, we’re hosting a special story time with Pasadena Humane, who will be at Black Cat with adoptable kittens! 🐈🐈‍⬛💕

Story time will begin after everyone settles in around 10am, and Pasadena Humane will remain at Black Cat until around 1pm with adoptable kitties. It’s currently kitten season so PH will most likely only bring kittens to the event. Come for story time or come later to meet the kitties! Story time is an all ages event 🐱💖
