Painted eyes are tricky, and staff at this Millsboro studio will help kids get them right. My CERAMICS Studio focuses on ceramic painting, with help on hand for young artists building their skills.

The ceramics selection is a big draw. The studio carries a wide range of pieces, so choosing what to paint might take longer than painting it.

Supplies are provided and easy to reach. That’s great news for anyone who claims they don’t have a creative bone in their body.

The atmosphere is relaxed and low pressure. You can take your time without feeling like someone is grading your brushwork. Now for the clever part. Once you finish, you can have your piece fired and pick it up about five days later.

Can’t wait that long? Cover your piece with a clear glaze instead and take it home the same day.

Just let your paint dry completely before glazing. Rushing that step can leave smears, and nobody wants a smudgy cat on their new plate.

Hours shift around a bit, so check before you go. Monday and Tuesday have a midday break, with sessions from 10 AM to 2 PM and again from 5 to 8 PM.

Wednesday runs noon to 8 PM, and Thursday and Friday go from 10 AM to 5 PM. Saturday closes at 3 PM, and Sundays are closed.

Millsboro sits inland in Sussex County, not far from the Delaware beaches. When a beach day gets rained out, this makes a smart backup plan.
