One of our missions to is support independent film, especially Wisconsin independent film, so we'd like to bring your attention to a 100% Wisconsin-made production that's playing in Madison right now: Nathan Deming's Winter Hymns. You may recall seeing this title in the 2026 program, and it's playing now at . Screenings are selling out and it's now been extended into a second week, with daily evening screenings through May 13th!

"A palliative care doctor (APT's Colleen Madden) meets with a series of dying patients on a cold winter's day in Wisconsin. Also starring Tara Mallen, Brian Huskey, and Chike Johnson."

If you're looking for film that prompts you to contemplate mortality, appreciate the expressive power of the human face, AND chuckle in recognition when it namechecks Epic, head over to Flix this week!
