MYTH OR FACT: Better tools make you a better woodworker (Pt. 1)

The Egyptians built the pyramids with ropes and chisels.

So no — the $4,000 saw didn't make you a better woodworker.

We've been timber framing for years. For the longest time it was basic hand tools and a set of chisels — mortises, dovetails, the whole thing, cut by hand.

Then we got the band saws. The beam saws. All the fancy stuff. We own every bit of it now.

And here's the honest truth: it didn't make our product one bit better. It just made it faster.

Same mortise. Same dovetail. Same quality. The tools didn't do that — the hands did.

Better gear buys you speed and ease. It doesn't buy you skill. That part you still have to earn.

A commenter who'd been using Rubio for a long time left this on our channel. Five stars across the board.

Color options? Rubio still has more. Custom blends? Woodaddy makes it easier for them to mix a custom color. Customer service? "Glad I found you guys — five stars all day."

But the line that hits is the price.

Rubio: ~$70–$80 for 350ml.
Woodaddy: $60 for 900ml.

Same finish quality. Fraction of the cost.

Here's the part Zach said back that's been stuck in our head all week:
"I've never heard anyone try Woodaddy and go back to Rubio. It's just never happened. The problem isn't the product — it's that they don't know we exist."
