Last night, the B.A.C. team had the honor of attending the premiere screening of Celebrating America 250: Made with Love at Kansas City PBS.

A few months ago, PBS came to our factory to film B.A.C. as part of a nationally syndicated documentary highlighting American makers, artisans, and manufacturers whose craft helps tell the story of this country. To be included in that story as a Kansas City-based instrument manufacturer is something we are extremely proud of.

It was a special night celebrating the people behind B.A.C., especially the craftsmanship, history, and passion that go into every instrument we build. Thank you to Kansas City PBS for helping share our story, and thank you to our team for continuing to build something worth recognizing.

We are proud to represent Kansas City, American manufacturing, and the legacy of jazz through the work we do every day.

Pro III spotlight.

The B.A.C. Pro III is inspired by the classic design concepts of mid-century Martin trumpets — built for jazz, solo, and studio players looking for a dark, rich, smoky sound with a warm, centered core and expressive response.

Built by our master craftsman Darrel in Kansas City, the Pro III features a 5” bell inspired by classic mid-century Martin trumpet designs, a reverse leadpipe, .464” front-facing Meinlschmidt valve block, tapered dual radius main tuning slide, vintage Martin-inspired Z-bracing, weighted stop screws, and optional ergonomic configurations.

From the bell design to the leadpipe and bracing, every detail of the Pro III is built to support tonal depth, centered projection, and a free, singing response.

Pro II spotlight.

The B.A.C. Pro II is inspired by the legendary Chicago-era Benge 3X — built for players looking for a bright, focused sound, immediate response, and a forward, projecting voice across jazz, orchestral, solo, and studio settings.

Built by our master craftsman Darrel in Kansas City, the Pro II features a 5” lightweight hand-hammered bell built on the authentic Benge 3X bell mandrel, a Chicago Benge-inspired yellow brass leadpipe with a .346” Venturi, the classic Benge MLP .464” front-facing Meinlschmidt valve block, dual radius main tuning slide, yellow brass Z-braces, weighted stop screws, and optional ergonomic configurations.

We’re proud to have Arnetta Johnson as the endorsing artist for this horn.

Pro I spotlight.

The B.A.C. Pro I was built as the versatile professional model in the Pro Series — bright, rich, and focused with balanced playability, strong projection, and reliable intonation across all registers.

Built by our master craftsman Darrel in Kansas City, the Pro I features a 5” hand-hammered yellow brass D1 bell, BAC B25 leadpipe, .460”–.464” step-bore design, .464” front-facing Meinlschmidt valve block, dual radius main tuning slide, yellow brass Z-braces, weighted stop screws, and optional ergonomic configurations.

Our endorsing artist for the Pro I, Jumaane Smith, describes it best:

“The Pro I delivers a bright, rich, and focused tone with openness throughout all registers, excellent projection, and consistent intonation. Equally at home in orchestral, solo, and jazz settings, it is a versatile professional instrument built for players who demand both clarity and flexibility.”

Introducing the B.A.C. Pro Series Trumpets.

Built by our master craftsman Darrel in Kansas City, the Pro Series represents B.A.C.’s interpretation of the classic American trumpet—combining vintage inspiration with modern precision, player-focused ergonomics, and the handcrafted expertise of our master craftsmen in Kansas City.

We’re launching the Pro I, Pro II, and Pro III in honor of ITG’s 50th Anniversary next week, where we’ll be debuting the full series in person.

Pro I
Bright, rich, and focused with balanced playability, strong projection, and reliable intonation across all registers.

Pro II

An amazing night at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Mike had the chance to support B.A.C. artists Elliot Mason and Vincent Gardner as they performed on their B.A.C. trombones, and to see our longtime friend Dr. Reginald Chapman sit in with JALC.

Grateful for nights like this — getting to show up for people we believe in and celebrate the relationships built through music!
