I grew up in a sleepy, small town learning from a craftsman/ survivalist Father and a business-minded, super-smart Mother along a quiet street that stretched along the Mississippi River. I would spend days on end studying the water, its movement and graceful power, the rising and falling of summer to winter, the beautiful creatures that the water would draw to it and that it held within its depths
. I compelled myself to become a stronger person by swimming daily against the mighty River's current in the summer. I watched the clamming industry, once booming, become nonexistent. The dreaded zebra mussel had taken over the waters where I once found beautiful shells that I had collected in hoards as a child, magical shells that I find to be now more precious than gold, more rare than the rarest of gemstones. At a very young age, I began to make jewelry from the objects I found along the Great River's shores. I found myself sculpting from clay for hours on end in my Father's garage, where I was allowed a small space & a kiln to create with. My early sculptures were mostly of the graceful female figure dancing or emoting with her body a strong feeling. I went on to study bronze foundry techniques, sculpture small and large, gemstone mounting, jewelry manufacture and repair, construction work with my Father, sustainable and off-grid architecture of Earthship Biotecture. I have entertained as a mermaid with Renaissance Festivals across the country. I Love making people feel important and special. This is my Life's work. The objects I create I hope will help You, each day that You gaze upon them, to know and to feel Your importance, Your perfect uniqueness, Your beauty, and Your greatness.
