the Lion Dancers are making their way through downtown Hilo and we're opening our doors to celebrate together.

Firecrackers, drums, red envelopes, familiar faces and maybe a few treats along the way. It's one of those days where the whole street comes alive.

This year is personal ♘

The Year of the Fire Horse celebration in downtown will be Saturday, February 28th
and for us, it hits close to home.

Mom was born in the Year of the Horse.
So when the lion dancers make their way through Hilo for their annual blessing, we'll be right there,
celebrating with full hearts.

Every year, the Lion Dancers bless our shop and our neighbors along the street. It's one of our favorite Hilo traditions: firecrackers, drums, traditional treats,
and red envelopes for good fortune.

Intertwined. Our Ulana Gown first came to be over 10 years ago- using the same materials we used in this current dress: Buttery soft leather, Hand dyed silk charmeuse, and our Hilo Ulana Lauhala. Both beautiful and comfortable, we hope to adorn the wearer with a piece to last a lifetime (and passed down after that). Currently in shop, as a single one of a kind wearable art piece, available now.

Join us TODAY 11-1pm for a sweet book signing with Linda Paik Moriarty of what we call our ‘shell bible’ when referencing Niihau Shells in the shop. From Kahelelani, Momi to Alileʻa and more- this book includes beautiful visuals of all our favorite shells.

The market eke that won’t stop! We’ve carried these in the shop for decades. They’ve evolved since that first bag…added leather handles, strengthened the connecting parts and settled on three sizes. We don’t always have them in store, but when we do, they sell out quickly! Freshly restock, the Market Eke, in shop only!
