In January of 2004, stay-at-home mom, Vicki Moore, came across an internet story about forced prostitution in India. The story detailed that approximately 200 women and girls are forced into the commercial s*x trade of India each day. Vicki dove deeper into the statistics and stories and could not believe what she found. Vicki felt the Lord's call to take action against the atrocity of human trafficking in India, and by December of 2004 the newly founded Rahab's Rope held its first Christmas celebration in Bangalore, India -- 100 women were in attendance! Less than a year after Vicki Moore stumbled upon a seemingly obscure internet article, the ministry of Rahab's Rope was born. Since that first Christmas celebration, over 1200 women have been through the Rahab's Rope women's clinics in India. Embark on an Unforgettable Journey

INCREDIBLE INDIA!

“Incredible India!” It’s a common saying here. Ask anyone who has visited this amazing land, and they will tell you it is a place of incredible contrasts.

Today, I am especially aware of those contrasts—the diversity, the complexity, and the beauty of this country. With 5,000 years of recorded history, India’s people reflect the richness of the past through their culture, traditions, customs, and food. Much has changed, yet so much remains uniquely the same.

I have been traveling this road for more than twenty years, and what an incredible journey it has been!

On the surface, India is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. As I write this letter, I am sitting in a small beachside café, watching the sun set over the Arabian Sea while sipping a glass of freshly pressed pineapple juice. Incredible!

The colors here are some of the most vivid you will ever see, with combinations and contrasts found nowhere else quite like this. Everywhere you look, there is beauty, fun, and color.

But beneath the beauty lies another reality—the darkness that so often goes unseen.
Today, as I walked down the street, I saw preparations for a festival featuring a twenty-foot statue of a god depicted in the act of killing. The celebration represented traditions and beliefs that are deeply rooted in this culture. Oh, the contrast of this incredible India!

Isn’t this just like our enemy, the deceiver? He disguises what is dark and ugly with beauty and fun.

I see this same contrast in the women we serve. They are beautiful, from their colorful clothing to their sweet smiles. Yet when I look beyond the surface and into their eyes, I often see the sadness, pain, and darkness they carry.

We are here to bring the Light of Jesus into that darkness. God has called us to help the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom for the captives, and bring release from darkness. He has called us to comfort those who mourn, to give them beauty instead of ashes, joy instead of mourning, and praise instead of despair.

What a privilege it is to be part of what God is doing in the lives of these women and children!

Thank you for the incredible ways you have joined us on this journey. Your prayers, generosity, and support allow us to continue sharing the love of Jesus and bringing hope to those who need it most.

As I think about this opportunity, I am reminded of the song “The Great Adventure” by Steven Curtis Chapman. Its message captures the excitement of following God wherever He leads and stepping out in faith to discover what He has planned for us.

What if we truly embraced the adventure God has placed before us? What if we were willing to step beyond what is comfortable, follow His leading into the unknown, and trust Him to guide our steps?

The journey may take us over mountains and through valleys, but through it all, we can discover the incredible things God can do when we say yes to Him.

I haven’t mentioned our drug and alcohol detox and rehabilitation center lately, and things have been going very well. I thought I would give you an update and remind you how this ministry began.

In 2017, we were introduced to a woman who had been trained in drug and alcohol detox and rehabilitation. Her heart was to rescue women from the red-light area who were struggling with addiction. We learned that approximately 80% of families in this state are affected by he**in addiction. The statistics regarding the abuse of women and children were also shocking. She had the training and the heart to help these women, but she did not have the funds. We joined with her to help make this ministry possible. Recently, we observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in partnership with the District Legal Services Authority. We held a collaborative event with them, and they introduced a new concept that we were very encouraged by. They spoke about obedience. They shared that they had received a revelation about the true meaning of obedience: that even through difficult times and struggles, true obedience means listening to God and obeying Him.

I would like to share a couple of those stories with you today.

Lily
Lily has five children and struggles with multiple addictions. She was forced into trafficking to help support her children. We were able to get her to come to our center for help. This was Lily’s first experience in a rehabilitation program. She stayed with us for eight months and was eventually discharged. However, we did not feel that she had fully worked through her issues. She was still in denial about many things in her life. Two months after leaving, Lily relapsed. She is now back with us, and this time we are seeing something different. She is acknowledging her problems and seems eager to work through the issues that have contributed to her addiction. It is very encouraging to see her truly working toward overcoming the things that have held her captive. Please pray for Lily—that God will give her strength and that she will come to understand that true and lasting transformation is found in Christ.

Aphy
Aphy lost both of her parents when she was young. In an attempt to deal with the pain of that loss, she turned to drugs and alcohol. Before coming to our center, Aphy had already been in several other rehabilitation programs. But after six months with us, we have seen tremendous change in her life. Aphy believes in Jesus and has now completed a discipleship training program. Because it is not safe for her to return to her village, she has come back to our center and will continue her after-care with us. Please pray that we will be able to help Aphy find a job and establish a safe and stable future. She is also seeing a doctor for a spinal cord problem, so please pray for healing and wisdom for the doctors as they care for her.

These are the stories that remind us why we continue this work. Recovery is not always a straight path, but God is faithful, and He is able to take broken lives and make them new.
