Quick warning for Gainesville homeowners: Stop watering your lawn at night!

With June heat hitting 90+ degrees and daily afternoon thunderstorms, your St. Augustine or Zoysia grass is essentially sitting in a hot sauna.

Running your sprinklers late in the evening means water sits on the blades for 8 to 10 hours overnight, creating a massive breeding ground for deadly Take-All Root Rot fungus.

The Fix: Reset your timers to run between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM so the morning sun can quickly dry the grass blades.
