Celebrating freedom this Juneteenth! ❤️💚💛🖤

Can you believe Juneteenth has only been an official holiday since 2021?? We’ve got to celebrate to make up for all the years this holiday did not get the attention it deserves

Here’s what Edgewater Books has for you: excellent fiction, nonfiction, YA and children’s books from Black voices and about Black history — a great starting place to educate yourself on the history of US enslavement and the ongoing fight for liberation

On Friday 6/19, we’ll also be doing Juneteenth TRIVIA at checkout to help test your knowledge and hopefully teach you a new fact or two.

Though technically this observation ends on the 31st, we encourage you to find ways to recognize the history, cultures and invaluable contributions of AAPI Americans all year round. Books are a great way to broaden your perspectives, and whether fiction, history, biography or arts and culture is your method of choice, we’ve got it!

Jewish language, scholarship, and heritage has always shaped our communities and culture in important and vital ways, even while facing challenges and erasure efforts. Celebrating and seeking out these stories are an important part of correcting antisemitism 💙

It’s Children’s Book Week! 🤹📖

At Edgewater Books we care deeply about fostering a love of reading early on in a child’s life, and meeting them where they’re at to keep them reading year after year! That’s why we carry a wide range of children’s books that cater to different interests, reading levels, and identities.

Non-English books, early readers, graphic novels, picture books, chapter books, young adult… you name it — we got it!

It warms our hearts when we get to help our youngest customers fall in love with a new book. We hope to be even a small part of supporting the next generation’s love for reading! 💕🍎
