For all of you who don't know, Danny the Comic Shop is a member of 40 West Arts District. Every month we celebrate First Friday by staying open late (9pm), selling (most) everything in the store at 15% off, showcasing local art, spinning records, giving out free comics (while supplies last)!

An argument about whether fiction can redeem the violence it depicts, or whether the most honest thing a story can do is refuse to try.

Saga believes that storytelling can metabolize horror. That trauma absorbed into family narrative becomes something livable. Monstress does not believe this. It offers no such transaction. Horror in Marjorie Liu's world is not processed; it accumulates.

Hop on the Shuttle, Explore the District

40 West Arts is excited to announce that for every First Friday in 2026, visitors can grab a free shuttle bus to access the two primary gallery areas that are active during First Friday.

Running approximately every 10 minutes, the free shuttle bus will take you back and forth so that you get a chance to see more of what 40 West Arts has to offer!
