Big Changes Are Coming to Pallet Town

I’ve got some big changes to announce regarding the future of Pallet Town.

Large-scale, in-person retail just isn’t cutting it anymore.

The long hours, the time away from family, and the stress it has placed on both myself and my team have reached a point where something needs to change.

And honestly, I’m excited about what comes next.

These changes will allow us to focus on what makes Pallet Town the best — offering an incredible selection of Pokémon cards, collectibles, and merchandise while creating a better experience for our customers and our team.

So here’s the plan…

Retail is moving into the smaller side of the building — Professor Sam’s Gaming Lounge.

Don’t worry. We’re still going to offer one of the largest selections of Pokémon cards and merchandise in Western New York.

In fact, we’ll be adding some new things along the way.

The larger space that currently houses our retail store will become a dedicated space for larger-scale events.

Think:

🎴 Card Shows
🎟️ Larger Bingo Nights
🔥 Special Pokémon Events
🎉 Community Events
…and plenty of other things we have planned.

This gives us the ability to do bigger and better events without having to maintain a massive retail floor every single day.

It also means more time off for our staff, less workload, and a healthier balance for everyone involved.

And there’s one more HUGE part of this change…

Discord & Online Are Becoming a Major Part of Pallet Town

Our website and Discord will be more important than ever.

Drops, events, announcements, special releases, and other big news will be announced through those channels first.

Our online business has grown to the point where it has been doing roughly 10x the business of the physical store.

Yes, we’re currently in a Pokémon boom — but that’s not the whole story.

Online is actually where I started Pallet Town many years ago, and we found tremendous success there even when the Pokémon market wasn’t nearly as hot as it is today.

So we’re going back to what we know works — while building something even better.

This isn’t the end of Pallet Town.

It’s the next evolution.

We’re going to have more flexibility, more events, more online drops, more Pokémon, and hopefully a lot more fun along the way.

I truly appreciate everyone who has supported Pallet Town over the years.

Thank you for allowing us to grow, change, and continue doing what we love. ❤️

🚨 A QUICK REMINDER ABOUT RESPECT 🚨

We want to take a moment to address something important with our gaming community.

We understand that product allocations, availability, pricing, release quantities, and restocks can be frustrating. We get it — we’re customers and gamers too, and we know how disappointing it can be when you’re looking for something and we simply don’t have enough to go around.

But please remember: our staff does not control allocations.

Our employees don’t decide how much product we receive, what gets allocated to us, when shipments arrive, or what products are available from distributors. They also don’t control manufacturer decisions or supply issues.

If we could magically order more product whenever we wanted, we absolutely would.

So please don’t take that frustration out on the person behind the counter. Our staff is working with the inventory and information they have and doing their best to help everyone they can.

If you have concerns about allocations, pricing, availability, store policies, or how something is being handled, please bring those concerns to management. Sam and Greg are always willing to listen, explain the situation, and address concerns directly.

Also, while we like a good joke once in a while, turning that against our staff is also something we dont tolerate.

Be frustrated with the situation — not the staff member who is trying to help you through it.

Our employees work hard to make our stores a welcoming and enjoyable place for everyone. They deserve the same respect we expect them to give to every customer.

Thank you for understanding and for treating our staff with the respect they deserve.
