The Tattered Cover Book Store is a locally-owned, indie bookstore with eight expansive locations & four smaller satellite stores in the greater metro-Denver area. Established as a small storefront in 1971, it now has locations on Colfax Avenue, across from East High School; in Historic LoDo (lower downtown), at the corner of Wazee & 19th Ave. There are also small Tattered Cover bookstores for commuters in Denver Union Station, and on each concourse at Denver International Airport.

We’re thrilled to host a 20th anniversary bash at our TC Colfax location to mark our 20th year on legendary East Colfax Ave!

All day long we’ll be offering special in-store-only discounts, we’ll be hosting raffles and giveaways, we’ll have special drinks at the café, face painting, story times, epic playlists…we’re gonna party like it’s 2006! 📚🥳📚

Our 2026 License to Read Children’s Summer Reading Program is BACKKKKKK this Memorial Day! And better than ever 🤩🚗📚

Monday, May 25th - Monday, September 7th, young readers ages 0-18 can come in and pick up their free License to Read materials and kick off reading at least 1000 minutes over the summer!

Once completed, participants will receive 10% off a YA/kids book of their choice and a free prize from our treasure chest 💚
