The Tattered Cover Book Store is a locally-owned, indie bookstore with eight expansive locations & four smaller satellite stores in the greater metro-Denver area. Established as a small storefront in 1971, it now has locations on Colfax Avenue, across from East High School; in Historic LoDo (lower downtown), at the corner of Wazee & 19th Ave. There are also small Tattered Cover bookstores for commuters in Denver Union Station, and on each concourse at Denver International Airport.

Our 2026 License to Read Children’s Summer Reading Program is BACKKKKKK this Memorial Day! And better than ever 🤩🚗📚

Monday, May 25th - Monday, September 7th, young readers ages 0-18 can come in and pick up their free License to Read materials and kick off reading at least 1000 minutes over the summer!

Once completed, participants will receive 10% off a YA/kids book of their choice and a free prize from our treasure chest 💚
