🌈 PFLAG is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies. They provide safe spaces for family members to connect, offer resources for allies, and fight for LGBTQ+ equality and inclusive legislation at local and national levels.

Is it any wonder the 90s are “trending”? This time when we weren’t worried about likes and internet trolls, and the scariest concept of AI was a futuristic movie robot with a funny voice (that’s The Terminator for my Gen Z friends).

This bandana is kind of a nostalgic look back—with a pep talk for the future. For me, I recall being 14, and leaving my perfect grungy flannel unattended, only to catch my little babushka of a Lithuanian grandmother mending all the holes in it!(Grandma noooooo!). But that’s how she showed she cared. She fixed it for you the best she could 💜.

This piece… It’s not about settling, it’s about finding contentment, making something with your hands, and doing good things because that’s just how you show up for your community. We’ve been there before, and we can get there again.

It’s about voting with your wallet, right? Big corporations are running all over our lives and liberties. If we’re going to get out of this dystopian mashup of a corporatocracy & oligarchy, it’s gonna take us all making smart choices with our money.

Sometimes you can’t avoid it due to the consolidation of our supply chains. And some of us don’t have the financial or geographic privilege to avoid shopping at places like WalMart. But if you can choose small business, please know that, in a society that runs on corporate greed, you are opting into one of the most powerful acts of resistance.

My bandana stand is just a drop in the bucket. But if you choose to gift one of my small-batched, thoughtfully designed bandanas over a flimsy mass-produced one from Target, you’ve cast a vote for the little guy. Then! Head to a farmer’s market this weekend and buy a native plant and your weekly veggies from a local farmer. BAM! You are basically a small biz superhero!

Resistance can be big and flashy. But it takes small, continuous choices every day to keep the engine moving.
