The Mum Shop The Mum Shop provides homecoming mums and garters personalized by your individual selections.

The Mum Shop has been making mums and garters in North Texas for 40 years. In addition to custom orders, we also sell kits of basic mum and garter components and supplies to build or add to your own creation. Our quality workmanship, unique designs, low prices and customer service are recognized by our thousands of customers. Many school organizations use our mum and garter sales as a fundraiser,

and we are regularly adding new schools to our list of clients. Here are some important features of our service that make the “Original” Mum Shop unique.

We are unpacked, organized and ready for homecoming season 2024 in our new location. We will be opening for pre-season hours on Monday, August 5th Monday-Friday from 10:00-2:00. We will be opening for our regular season on Monday, August 12th! We are hiring for many positions. Please message us if interested.

Evelyn Jane “Read” Lockett (Nana) May 4, 1939 - December 11, 2022 -Daughter of Emory and Ethel Read. She was a graduate of Baylor University, a lifelong Texan and a co-founder of the Mum Shop. She is survived by her husband of almost 57 years, Orlando Lockett of Plano, TX, children Amy McCuiston and husband Stacey of McKinney, TX, Ann Wilson and husband Brian of Dallas, TX and William Lockett and wife Anne of College Station, TX. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren-Patrick, Amanda, Caroline, Emily, William, Meg, Catherine, 2 granddaughters in law- Madi and Bethany, and 2 great grandchildren-Lucas and Hunter, and 4 sisters, Mary Selz of San Antonio, TX, Wanda Hickman of Austin, TX, Margaret Phillips of Beaumont, TX, and Beth Coward of Austin, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

We will be celebrating Evelyn Lockett’s life with two separate dates and locations.

A graveside service on Saturday, January 7th at 1:00 p.m. The service will be at Beech Creek Baptist Cemetery at 437 Co Rd 4540, Spurger, TX 77660. We will have a reception following the service at Hillister Baptist Church at 258 FM 1013, Hillister, TX 77624.

For all friends, who live in North Texas, we are having a celebration on Wednesday, January 11th at 2545 Chanute Dr, Plano, Tx 75025 at 6:30 p.m.

The family wishes that any memorials in her name would go to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Stjude.org/donate).
